The Best of Joe Paul Nichols - Vol. #1
This album contains
some of Joe Paul nichols' Best recordings from the era of 1970 - 1985. Eleven of these
songs were originally released as singles and all of them have been in previous albums.
Some of his best singles were "Hello Trouble", "These Little Things",
"Letters Have No Arms", "Hallelujah Jones", "Come on And Go Home
With Me", "Texas Memory", and "I Could Easily Fall In Love".
He recently went into the studio at Sumet Sound
in Dallas, Tx. and re-cut "These Little Things" and When A Man Dies", to
bring them up to todays sound. The other nineteen songs were recorded at Custom Sound
Studio in Tyler, Tx., with Curtis Kirk as producer. Most of these song's certainly define
the Joe Paul Nichols sound through that era with strong fiddle and steel guitar lead.
Some of the best recordings out of twenty-one
on this album are "Odds and Ends, Bit and Pieces", a Harland Howard song and
"That's What It's Like To Be Lonesome", a Bill Anderson song. It's the kind of
music you expect to hear when you go to a Joe Paul Nichols Concert. "Blueberry
Hill", "To Late To Worry", and "Mathilda", also, stand out on
this album being different from his normal traditional sound.
This album finishes with a country gospel song
"Let's All Go Down To The River". I think you will enjoy this traditional
country album of twenty-one songs.
